Gaudi Dragon

Gaudi designed this dragon, which is in Guell Park in Barcelona. After looking at some of his architecture I made the connection to the word "gaudy". I loved all of the curves, bright colors, mosaics, and variety of stone shapes; it's all so over the top but still works together.

Gaudi's work is admired by architects around the World as being one of the most unique and distinctive styles. Through a narrow portal of Guell Park the visitor enters a fantastic world of forms and colors, which the genial architect Guadi created for his friend and sponsor, industrialist Eusebi Güell. Eusebi Guell, who was actually one of Gaudi’s clients, wanted to have his own suburban city just outside of Barcelona. The resulting property was never successful as a real estate venture with only two homes ever being built on it. Today it is a Gaudi park which is owned by the city of Barcelona, and features a breathtaking selection of Gaudi architecture. You can even stay near Guell Park in hotels in Barcelona and every day look out for the giant colored lizard which is one of the city's most photographed attractions. Casa Museu Gaudi is the house at the entrance with a spire where the architect lived for most of his last 20 years. Entrance is free.
